Whew! What a year it has been for the Granarly crew. With many milestones, setbacks, and lessons learned, Granarly is officially nationwide in Sprouts as of August 1, 2024.

But how did we get here?

Right on Target

Granarly hit Target shelves after previously being in less than 20 stores just over a year ago in June 2023. Morgan Potts, our fearless Chief Granarly Gal, had the confidence that Granarly could go nationwide but it was a big ask to get in front of these large retailers. So when Target came knocking (technically calling), Morgan’s faith in the brand was 100% confirmed.

“Let’s do another,” thought Morgan.

The Grass is Greener at Sprouts

While the success at Target was a huge milestone, conversations with Sprouts actually started prior to Target. The Sprouts launch was originally planned for December 2023 but due to timeline constraints, the launch date was pushed out to ensure quality execution of the brand expansion. Despite several manufacturing issues outside of the company’s control, Morgan and her team were able to get product sent to over 500 locations across the United States with the new launch timeline.

Lessons Learned

From the Target launch, Morgan has taken several strategies with her moving forward. First, product assortment is very important. Morgan shared that Granarly went into Target with only The O.G. and Mardi Pardi, both whiskey baked flavors. For Sprouts, Espresso Yo’Self, Groovy Green, and Mardi Pardi are on the shelves for a wider variety of flavors for consumers.

Second, doing in-store demos is KEY to sales, growth, and customer retention. Now, Morgan is on the road visiting over 20 Sprouts locations to meet customers, give out samples, and share the Granarly story. To follow along, follow @granarly on Instagram and keep up with the official Sprouts Road Show.

How does Morgan do it all? Outside of the role of Granarly CEO, she truly lives an adventurous life.

“I’ve worked hard to be disciplined. I like to be active so I wake up early, whether at home or on the road. Just because I’m go-go-go doesn’t mean my lifestyle has to change,” Morgan explained.

From packing healthy snacks to meeting up with friends of friends, Morgan stays true to herself and stays positive amidst a life full of risk taking.

“Life’s too short to not take risks. Risks are scary,” she admitted,” but being open-handed around them makes them less scary. I know that even if we fail, we failed trying. That’s the positive attitude I’ve developed to have.”

Morgan’s Advice for Entrepreneurs

  1. A “no” is not bad and a “no” is not forever. You have to trust timing and everything that you’re doing.
  1. It’s not always mountain tops - the valleys are where the grit comes in. If you’re in the valleys, keep going because the breakthrough is just around the corner.
